Don't Grow Up - Watch Cartoons!

You’re ten years old, and it’s Saturday morning. You’re not allowed to call your friend, because it’s only 7am, and it’s not time to ride bikes yet (these are the pre-cell phone days!). You head to the kitchen and pour a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Your parents aren’t up yet, so you carefully walk to the living room, plop yourself on the couch and turn on the TV. “Sweet, G.I. Joe is on!” you exclaim with a mouth full of sugary goodness.

Sweet cereal and cartoons? This, my friend, is quintessential childhood.

I guarantee you just thought of your favorite breakfast cereal. If you’re like me, you just poured some milk out in memory of Waffle Crisp. Maybe you’re a Fruity Pebble person. And if you’re thinking of Grape Nuts right now, you need to see a therapist to work through your issues.

I’m also certain a list of your favorite cartoons just flashed through your mind. My go-to Saturday morning cartoons were Doug, Rugrats, and Animaniacs. I loved those dang shows. The day just wasn’t complete without humming “Killer Tofu.”

The surprising thing about most of those shows is they still hold up! They’re pretty hilarious and fun, even if some of the references are a bit dated.

Here were my top 5 kid shows in the 90s and where you can watch them:

  1. Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers - Disney+

  2. Recess - Disney+

  3. Doug - Disney+

  4. Hey Dude - Paramount+

  5. Salute Your Shorts - Paramount+

So, get yourself some jammies and a bowl of cereal, and settle into your favorite show!
