Festival of the Holidays at Disney California Adventure!
There’s nothing quite like the holidays at a Disney park. Back in November my girlfriend… wait, now she’s my fiancée (!!!) and I visited the Disneyland Resort just as the parks switched from Halloweentime to the holidays, and wow, it was incredible! The lights, trees, decorations, and food… oh, the food. Here’s a look at everything we tried during our 3 day trip!
Churro Toffee Cold Brew at Holiday Duets
You guys, this thing is nuts. The whipped cream is perhaps the best I’ve ever tasted, and even has bits of toffee mixed in! This was the perfect way to kick off a day at the parks.
Holiday Stuffing Mac & Cheese at Favorite Things
It’s exactly as advertised, with creamy cheese sauce and stuffing crumbles. Incredible!
Gingerbread Mickey at Favorite Things
Even though it’s prepackaged, it’s fresh, spicy in a gingery sort of way, and so, uh, I can’t avoid it… moist! And who can beat that classic Mickey shape? This was Katy’s favorite of the day.
Turkey and Stuffing Tamale at Merry Mashups
I was super excited about this one, but, the texture combo just kinda weirded me out. But, the taste was great, just like a Thanksgiving meal!
Pork al Pastor Naan Taco at Merry Mashups
They had me at pineapple pico de gallo. This thing is delicious! Definitely the winner of the day in my book.
All the treats are the perfect tapas style size, great for sharing a couple bites with friends. That means you can try a bunch of them! The lines were pretty darn long, but, it was the first day of the event, so all the APs, Instagrammers, and vloggers were out in full force. I actually enjoy when the parks are relatively busy, because there’s an air of excitement and anticipation you just don’t find anywhere else.
We ate up all the holiday festivities during our trip, so stay tuned for more reports!
