Top 5 Places to Rest at the Disneyland Resort!

While Southern California doesn’t wrestle with the humidity of the Florida, China, or Japan resorts, it can still get HOT! Sometimes you just need to sit down in the shade and take a deep breath. But, you’re at Disneyland! So, why “waste” time just sitting when you can enjoy the parks while you rest?! If you’re planning your next trip to the resort and looking for the best place to beat the heat, here are my top 5 places for an entertaining and enjoyable break at the Disneyland Resort.

5. Outdoor tables at Alien Pizza Planet - Great food, shade, and fun people watching. What more do you need?!

4. It’s a Small World - Sure, you may have the iconic theme song stuck in your head for, well, years, but with a relatively short wait time, an almost 13 minute run-time, and air conditioning, it’s a fantastic way to take a load off and enjoy one of Walt’s own creations!

3. Any show at the Hyperion Theater - The shows at the Hyperion are beautiful, intricate, and amazingly entertaining! I thought about putting this higher on the list, but, we usually have to wait a pretty long time to get a decent seat. However, the shows are well worth the wait, complete with a comfy seat, air conditioning, and an incredible, ~30 ,minute show!

2. The Disneyland Railroad - It’s not just a fun way to get from one side of the park to another, but also a fantastic way to enjoy some rest! The railroad offers fantastic views of the park (my favorite is the view of the Rivers of America and accompanying narration. And if you look just right, you can get a peek into Galaxy’s Edge! Trains were Walt’s favorite, so head straight to the nearest station for a journey around his Magic Kingdom!

1. Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room - Another one of Walt’s original, the Enchanted Tiki Room is the perfect blend of rest, relaxation, and entertainment. The seats are padded, the air conditioning flows, and if you’re lucky, you can score one of the corner bench seats for ultimate R&R. Grab a Dole Whip while you wait, and take in all that Walt’s Audio-Animatronics have to offer!

Honorable Mention: The Disneyland Monorail! it’s a great way to relax, but it can often get busy, and if you experience a backup and are motionless for a while it can get quite stuffy. But, ultimately, you’ve got a seat, so hey, it’s still a great option!

What are YOUR favorite rest spots at the Disneyland Resort? What treats do you enjoy while you take a little time for R&R on a hot day?
